Transaction provides flexibility for continued enterprise growth
CLEVELAND, Ohio – ContainerPort Group (CPG®), a leader in drayage trucking across North America, announced today that the CY, rail lift operation in Indiana, and Container Sales division of the company has been sold to ITS ConGlobal LLC. The transaction is scheduled to close March 15, 2021, and is part of a larger strategic plan for CPG’s parent company, World Group, to streamline its portfolio of service offerings and focus on core business.
“This sale allows ContainerPort Group to really focus on its core services: drayage trucking and logistics solutions,” according to World Group CEO Michael Smith. “This decision was not taken lightly. Our organization has been in the container depot business from the earliest days of containerization. The 90+ CPG employees that are transitioning to ITS ConGlobal bring years of experience and knowledge, and we are grateful for their many years of service to CPG.”
ITS ConGlobal maintains operations at over 120 facilities across the United States, Mexico, and Costa Rica. They are North America’s largest integrated intermodal services provider and offer essential services to the intermodal supply chain.
“Part of our strategic plan involves the continuous growth of our core services,” Smith added. “Strengthening what we already do well will further bolster our market position and reinforce to customers how we can help get their freight where it needs to go.”
